Course Description:
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) course aims to support participants in becoming more results-oriented and to improve their focus on development changes and real improvements in development projects. It has been recognized that, monitoring and evaluation require a focus on nationally owned development priorities and results, and should reflect the guiding principles, capacity development and human development.

The programme intends to provide participants with skills that guide the M&E function during implementation support; during key implementation support reviews as it is essential to update the project progress toward the achievement of its Projects goals. The programme also will discuss the formulation of evaluation questions, data collection, analysis and reporting, and provides participants with the opportunity to analyse case studies of actual assessments of different initiatives carried out in the country. Finally, the end of course, participants will be able to demonstrate mastery of the general concepts presented in the course, with a special emphasis on outcomes assessment design.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this training course, participants are expected to be able to:
a)    Describe the purposes, processes, norms, standards and guiding principles for monitoring and evaluation;
b)    Describe the essential elements of the planning and monitoring processes
c)    Develop a robust results framework for projects and programmes, with clear indicators, baselines, and targets; and setting up an effective monitoring system
d)    Develop an evaluation plan; managing, designing and conducting quality evaluations; and using evaluation for managing for development results, learning and accountability

Course Fees:
The course fee of TZS 350,000 (for Tanzanians) and equivalent of US$ 200.00 (for foreigners) covers costs of facilitation, training materials (stationery and other consumables), venue, light refreshments and lunch during session.
