This is to inform the College of Business Education (CBE) Community and the general public that, following successful completion of 10-Years Tenure of Prof. Emanuel A. Mjema as the Rector of CBE on 21st December 2022, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Ashatu K. Kijaji (MP), in exercise of the powers vested upon her under Section 6B(1) of the College of Business Education Act, Cap. 315 R.E 2002, as amended by Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act, No. 6 of 2020 has appointed Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga as the Acting Rector of CBE effective from 22nd December, 2022 until a substantive Rector is appointed.

Before her appointment as the Acting Rector of CBE, Prof. Lwoga was the Deputy Rector for Academic, Research and Consultancy and a Professor in the Department of ICT and Mathematics at CBE.Prof. Lwoga holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management (Industrial and Information Technology), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Scientific Computing from the University of Dar es salaam, and a PhD in Information Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Prof. Lwoga has served in different managerial positions at various institutions, including the Head of ICT Section, Sokoine National Agricultural Library, SUA (December 2009- November 2010). Director of Library Services at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (December, 2010 – March, 2018), and the Deputy Rector (Academic, Research and Consultancy) at the CBE from March, 2018 until her current appointment.
