Holders of Form Six Qualifications:
Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education with two principal passes with a total of 4.0 points in the combination subjects; commerce, economics, accounting, advanced mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, geography, agriculture, nutrition, English, Kiswahili.
OR
Foundation Programme of the OUT with A GPA of 3.0 accumulated from six core subjects and at least a C grade from three subjects in Science or Business Studies cluster. PLUS, An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with at least 1.5 points from the two combination subjects.

Holders of Ordinary Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications
Ordinary Diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (NTA 6) or an average of B (Diploma in Education) or a Distinction for unclassified Diplomas and certificates or Upper Second Class for classified non-NTA Diplomas from any recognized institution in:
- Archaeology,
- Business Administration in Human Resources Management
- Business Administration,
- Information and Communication Technology,
- Information Technology
- Library and Information Studies Records and Archives Management,
- Marketing Management
- Medical Records,
- Procurement and Supplies

History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
