The Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) is a parastatal organization with corporate personality established under the Small Industries Development Organization Act,
Cap. 112 R.E 2002. The College of Business Education (CBE) is collaborating with SIDO in in the areas of research and consultancy activities related to entrepreneurship and other assignment determined from time to time. Further, CBE is collaborating with SIDO in offering internships, volunteering and field attachment for students, incubation programmes and entrepreneurship clubs, and to offer short courses training programme to the general public on the following areas:

b. Productivity to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
c. Technical Skills Training Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
d. Business Management to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
e. Effective Sales and Marketing Skill for competitive business
f. Internationalization –How to access international markets /Cross Border Trade
g. Advance Packaging and Branding Training
h. Business Tours within and Internationally with Small and Medium Enterprises
(SMEs) to access technology, market and linkages
i. Financial Management and Access to Finance
j. Business/Industrial Forum and Dialogue
k. Retirement programmes
l. Other training programme determined from time

The College of Business Education (CBE) is also collaborating with the Ministry of Industries, Investment and Trade (MITI) and SIDO at the project on Strengthening Manufacturing Enterprises through Quality and Productivity Improvement (KAIZEN) in the United Republic of Tanzania Phase 2 (August, 2017- July, 2020).

History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
