The College of Business Education (CBE) Tanzania in collaboration with the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) offers a Doctoral Programme in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Apart from jointly running the PhD Programme, the MoU mandates the two institutions collaborate in conducting Research and Consultancy services. The PhD Programme offering is within the International Multidisciplinary PhD Studies in Educational Technology & Learning Environments (IMPDET-LE) Framework of UEF. The IMPDET-LE - provides doctoral education in the interactions between education and technology in a given cultural context. Through the MoU, the two academic institutions have jointly established the IMPEDET-LE Doctoral Hub within the College of Business Education (CBE) in Tanzania to serve the entire East Africa and SADC region. Specifically, the IMPEDET-LE Hub offers doctoral education in the fields of educational technology and ICT for Development.

History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
