The Rector of the College of Business Education invites all eligible candidates to apply for admission into under listed Certificate and Diploma programmes for 2019/2020 academic year.

PART: I
Basic Technician Certificate in Metrology and Standardization

Entry Requirements

• Form IV with at least four passes including Mathematics or Physics, excluding religious subjects.
OR
• NVA Level 3, which must be relevant to the programmes

Entry Requirements for Other Basic Technician Certificate Programmes
• Basic Technician Certificates in Marketing
• Basic Technician Certificates in Accountancy
• Basic Technician Certificate in Information Technology
• Basic Technician Certificates in Business Administration
• Basic Technician Certificates in Procurement and Supplies Management

A Candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to all of the above Basic Technician Certificates Programmes if the Candidate has obtained:

• Form IV with at least four passes excluding religious subjects.
OR
• National Vocational Award (NVA) Level 3 which must be relevant to the programme applied for

NB: All Programmes are offered at Degree, Diploma and Certificate levels, in all Campuses except Mbeya Campus where the Programmes are offered only at Diploma and Certificate Levels.

PART: II
Ordinary Diploma in Metrology and Standardization:-
Entry Requirements
• Form Six with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes one of which must be Physics or Mathematics.
• Form IV with four passes including Physics or Mathematics plus Basic Technician Certificate in Metrology and Standardization
OR
• Other Basic Technician Certificate related courses from NACTE recognized Institution.

Ordinary Diploma in Information Technology
Entry Requirements
• Form six with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes of the combination subject.

• Basic Technician Certificate in Information Technology
OR
• Other Basic Technician Certificate related courses from NACTE recognized Institution.

 Entry Requirements for Other Ordinary Diploma Programmes

  • Diploma in Marketing
  • Diploma in Accountancy
  • Diploma in Business Administration
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management

A Candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to all the above Diploma Programs if the Candidate has obtained:

• Form Six Examination Certificate with at least one principal and one subsidiary passes of the appropriate discipline.
• NTA- Level 4 (Basic Technician Certificate) in the programme applied for
OR
• Other Basic Technician Certificate related courses from NACTE recognized Institution.

PART: III
Procedure for Applying:
1. Visit the College website. www.cbe.ac.tz
2. Go to Student Resources and click/select “Online Application System”
3. Follow instructions given by the online Application system to apply for the course of your choice.

The deadline for application is 31st July, 2019.

Commencement:
For Basic Technician Certificate and Ordinary Diploma levels, the courses will commence on 26th August, 2019.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES

The College has a limited number of rooms in its hostels. To secure accommodation at the College Hostels, students must complete registration then request for the same Online (through SARIS). After approval of the request in the system, Students are required to report to the Dean of Students Office to secure accommodation note. After that the student is given an invoice and she/he can pay the due though bank.
Due to limited number of rooms at the College Hostel, rooms are allocated to students on the first-come, first-served basis. However, together with the first-come first-serve basis approach, priority in room allocation is given to the following groups of students:

 Disabled students;
 International students;
 First year from up country;
 Sick students with long/known history; and
 Few students’ leaders

Since the need for accommodation is high, the College has entered into agreement with external accommodation providers (private owned hostels) within the neighborhood of the College. You are kindly asked to read the attached list of private owned hostels regarding location, charges and communication. However, students are advised to visit the hostels before confirmation of any booking. For any problem regarding accomodation, the Dean of Students’ Office will be there to solve.

History of CBE

The COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION (CBE) was established in 1965 by the Act of the Parliament. COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION Act No. 31 of 1965. His Excellency, J.K. Nyerere, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in January 1965. The College was officially named the “College of Business Education” (CBE). The said Act of Parliament gives the College its legal status as an autonomous institution with its Governing Body. The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with the provisions of this Act
