During the period under review, students participated in SHIMIVUTA games held in Iringa from 9th to 22nd December 2023. A total of 61 students from all campuses participated in the SHIMIVUTA games as indicated in Table 1.

SHIMIVUTA games drew together students from higher learning institutions in Tanzania. The following institutions participated in the competition: Institute of Finance Management (IFM), Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy (MNMA), National Institute of Transport (NIT), Centre for Foreign Relations (CFR), Institute of Rural Development and Planning (IRDP), Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA), Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA), Arusha Technical College (ATC), Institute of Social Work (ISW), Institute of Adult Education (IAE), Local Government Training Institute (LGTI), Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI), Water Development Institute (WDI).
The CBE teams participated in football, basketball (male and female), volleyball (male and female), and netball. The football team emerged as the third winner. The basketball teams (male and female) and Volleyball (male) were eliminated in the quarter-final stage. The netball and volleyball (female) teams were eliminated in the group stage.
