The Directorate of Student Services at the Dar es Salaam Campus organized an informative seminar on the Causes and prevention of HIV and AIDS on 2nd December 2024, with many students attending.
Ms. Azza Fuad Abdallah, a Kinondoni Municipal Council—Dar es Salaam Social Welfare Officer, facilitated the session and delivered a comprehensive presentation to raise students' awareness.
Ms. Azza provided detailed insights into the primary causes of HIV/AIDS, including unprotected sexual activity, sharing of unsterilized sharp objects, and mother-to-child transmission during childbirth or breastfeeding. She emphasized the importance of prevention through practices such as consistent condom use, regular testing, and avoiding risky behaviours.
Attendees actively participated in a question-and-answer session, where Ms. Azza addressed concerns and clarified myths surrounding HIV/AIDS.
This seminar marks another step in CBE’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy, informed student community.
