The Directorate of Students’ Services at Dar es salaam campus organized a meeting between the Rector and all students to address key academic and administrative matters. The meeting took place on 31st October 2024, attracting an audience of over 1,000 students.
In her address, Prof. Edda T. Lwoga warmly welcomed the new students, assuring them they had made the right choice by joining CBE. She shared a brief overview of the College of Business Education's rich history, highlighting its upcoming 60th-anniversary celebration on 21st January 2025, since its establishment by the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere in 1965.
Prof. Lwoga introduced the new students to the incubation program, encouraging them to submit their business ideas for nurturing and development into viable enterprises once the announcement was made. She emphasized the importance of responsibly using the freedom provided at the college, cautioning that misuse could lead to serious consequences.
Addressing the issue of gender-based violence and abuse, Prof. Lwoga firmly stated that the institution has zero tolerance for such behavior. She assured the students that anyone, whether a peer or staff member, found guilty of such offenses would face strict legal and institutional consequences.
She further reminded the students of the importance of paying tuition fees and completing their registration on time, urging them to observe the deadlines. Additionally, she emphasized the need for students to exhibit diligence, adhere to college rules and regulations, and uphold responsible behavior throughout their academic journey.
The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, during which students raised various questions about the college’s policies, academic programs, and available support services. Prof. Lwoga and other senior administrators provided clear and comprehensive responses, ensuring students’ concerns were addressed effectively.
