Training for Staff on Students' Health Insurance Coverage

During the period under review, the Directorate of Students’ Services organized a training program for staff responsible for managing students' health insurance coverage. The training took place from 1^st to 4^th October 2024 at the Dodoma campus, with at least two staff members from each campus in attendance.

Facilitated by officials from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) in Dodoma, the training aimed to enhance staff knowledge and skills related to NHIF processes, policies, and the new features in the NHIF system. The sessions focused on updated procedures and recent changes designed to improve the efficiency and accessibility of health insurance services provided to students.

Key issues addressed during the training included:

• Resolving NHIF Payment Problems.
• Implementing a Feature to Make NHIF Payment Mandatory for All Students.
• Reversing NHIF Debts for Students with Active Membership.
• Integrating the NHIF Report into the API System.

This training equipped staff with practical tools and insights to streamline health insurance services and ensure seamless student support.
