Training for Members of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee

During the period under review, the Directorate of Students Services at Mwanza Campus organized a training session for Students Disciplinary Committee Members on 7^th November 2024. The session brought together 16 participants and was facilitated by the Dean of Students, Mr Justine Urio, the Senior Welfare Officer, Ms Emmy Chitalika, and the Legal Officer, Mr Manyanda.

The primary objective of the training was to equip committee members with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate disciplinary cases effectively and uphold the integrity of the Students’ Disciplinary Rules 2024. The session emphasized properly handling routine disciplinary issues and cases with criminal elements.

Key topics covered included:

• An overview of the Students’ Disciplinary Rules and their application.
• Procedures for disciplinary hearings, evidence collection, and witness summoning.
• Understand the appeals process and ensure fairness in all proceedings.
• Practical insights on ethical conduct, conflict resolution, and enforcing penalties.
