Rectors’ Meeting with CBESO Leaders

During the period under review, the Directorate of Students’ Services coordinated the meeting between the Rector and the CBESO leaders, which was held on 29th October 2024. The meeting provided a platform for CBESO leaders to present several issues affecting students and the college.

One of the significant issues presented was the absence of proper playgrounds for sports, which forces students to use the Buswelu ground for their activities. This has raised concerns over the adequacy and safety of the playing area. The lack of sufficient lecture rooms was also highlighted, creating difficulties accommodating all students during classes. Another pressing issue was the absence of a college fence, which has led to the theft of students' properties. Finally, the CBESO leaders requested that the multipurpose hall be completed on time to provide students with an appropriate space for various activities.

In response, the Rector provided guidance and solutions to some of these concerns. The campus plans to address the issue of inadequate computer resources by purchasing additional computers for students' use. Moreover, the Rector announced plans to increase the college's Wi-Fi internet bandwidth to improve connectivity for students and staff. To address security concerns, a temporary fence will be created to safeguard the college premises and prevent theft.

Furthermore, the Rector urged students to pay their fees on time, emphasizing that timely payments would contribute to the smooth operation of the college. He also encouraged the CBESO leaders to be vigilant and report any corruption that may arise within the campus. The Rector informed the CBESO leaders about the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing the college hostel, which will help ensure proper administration. Finally, the Rector emphasized the importance of educating students about new examination rules to ensure a fair and organized assessment process.
