The seminar was held on 28th March 2025 and aimed at raising awareness among students. The seminar, facilitated by Mr. Michael Mwagala from Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital, was attended by 450 students. Among the chronic non-communicable diseases discussed were:

  • Cardiovascular Diseases such as hypertension, heart attacks, and strokes.
  • Diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, which is caused by poor diet and lack of exercise.
  • Cancer of various types, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer.
  • Respiratory Diseases like asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and bronchitis.

By the end of the seminar, students gained essential knowledge on how to make lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of NCDs, a significant global health challenge.
