Awareness seminar on Drug abuse

During the third quarter, the Directorate of Student Services at Mwanza Campus organized an awareness seminar on drug abuse. The seminar was held on 21^st March 2025, at BS 1 and facilitated by Dr. Richard Minde (Nurse). A total of 102 students attended the session.

The seminar covered key topics, including:

• Definition and significance of substance abuse
• Factors contributing to substance misuse
• Early warning signs and behavioral changes related to substance abuse
• Approaches to addressing and treating substance abuse, including support systems and therapies
• Practical strategies to prevent substance abuse
• The physical, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse

The seminar provided students with valuable knowledge about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of early intervention. Participants actively engaged in discussions, highlighting the need for continuous awareness and preventive measures.
