Awareness Seminar on Non-Communicable Diseases

During the third quarter, the Directorate of Student Services at Dar es salaam campus organized an awareness seminar on non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The seminar was held on 25th March 2025 and was facilitated by Ms. Rehema Mzungu from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of the Dar es Salaam City Council. A total of 201 students attended the session. The session aimed to educate students on the risks, prevalence, and prevention of NCDs.

  • Risk Factors – Poor diet, physical inactivity, and substance use

The seminar attracted a large number of students who actively participated in discussions, raising key concerns about prevention and early detection. The seminar emphasized the importance of awareness in promoting a healthier student community.
