The Directorate of Students’ Services recently held an engaging seminar on the Students’ Disciplinary Rules, 2024. The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Marco Stephano, the Acting Dean of Students, and focused on empowering students with knowledge to promote discipline and compliance.
The seminar covered the following key areas:
✅ Serious Disciplinary Offenses – Students were encouraged to understand and avoid violations such as drug abuse, violence, or destruction of property, which could result in suspension or expulsion.
✅ Student Dress Code – Emphasis was placed on adhering to the dress code, including avoiding inappropriate attire such as excessively tight clothing, torn jeans, or unsuitable hairstyles.
✅ Official Communication – Proper communication channels were highlighted, including the importance of submitting written requests through the Dean of Students for any external correspondence related to college matters.
✅Absence Procedures – Students were educated on the proper process for requesting permission to be away from the college for valid reasons, particularly when such absence would result in missing academic activities. The procedure requires submitting formal letters to the relevant authorities to ensure accountability and transparency.
Students actively participated by asking insightful questions, which were addressed in detail by Mr. Stephano.
This seminar was a vital step in fostering a disciplined and thriving academic environment, ensuring students are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities.
