FEEDBACK SESSION: KARIAKOO TRADERS AND COMMITTEE DISCUSS BUSINESS CHALLENGES

The Committee for Evaluating the Business Environment Between Local and Foreign Traders met with some businesspeople and their leaders on February 15, 2025, at Cate Hotel Hall in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam.

This meeting is part of a series of discussions that the Committee has been conducting since its appointment on February 2, 2025. The Committee has already met with various groups of traders, including those dealing in clothing, cosmetics, electrical appliances, vehicle parts, and transportation equipment, among others.

Speaking to the press shortly before the meeting began, the Rector of the College of Business Education, who is also the Chairperson of the Committee, Prof. Edda Tandi Lwoga, stated that the Committee has also begun receiving feedback through a toll-free phone number (0800 111616), regular text messages or WhatsApp (free of charge) at 0738 816113, or through the e-feedback system at https://emrejesho.gov.go.tz.

“Since our appointment, we have engaged with various groups of traders and continue to do so. I am confident that by the end of our given mandate, we will be able to present the required report,” said Prof. Lwoga.

On his part, Mr. Severine Mushi, Chairperson of the Kariakoo Traders Association, on behalf of the Kariakoo traders, thanked the Minister of Industry and Trade, Hon. Dr. Selemani Jafo, for recognizing the importance of this issue and taking action.

“I urge all traders to fully cooperate by contributing their ideas, whether by calling, sending messages, or attending meetings, so that the Committee can complete its work on time and for the benefit of our country,” said Mushi.
