The College of Business Education (CBE) Main Campus has hosted a seminar on Peer Educators, organized by the Directorate of Student Services under the leadership of the Head of Counselling and Health Services, Ms. Farida Shemweta.
The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Philipina Kagaruki, a Senior Social Welfare Officer from DUCE. She provided insightful training on the role of peer educators, emphasizing their responsibility in guiding and educating fellow students on key social issues. Topics covered included comprehensive sexuality education, gender-based violence and effective communication skills for peer educators.
Ms. Philipina highlighted the importance of peer educators in creating a supportive and informed student community. She also encouraged participants to actively engage in peer education initiatives, fostering a positive and safe learning environment for all.
The seminar was interactive, allowing students to share experiences and ask questions, making it an enriching session aimed at empowering students to be advocates for positive change within their communities.
