PhD degree from Kerala Agricultural University, India.

Master of Science degree in International Business from London South Bank University.

Bachelor’s degree in Business administration from Madurai Kamaraj University, India.

Mini Statement 

Dr Nina J Burra holds a PhD degree from Kerala Agricultural University, India, majoring in Co-operation and Banking. Dr Burra also holds a Master of Science degree in International Business from London South Bank University and a bachelor’s degree in Business administration from Madurai Kamaraj University, India. Before joining CBE, Dr Burra was a private banker for Commercial Bank of Africa (T) Limited (currently NCBA). Dr Burra also holds a diploma in UN studies, obtained from the Institute of UN Studies, New Delhi, India.


She is also trained in market access for food and nutrition security by the Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI), Wageningen University, Netherlands; patent drafting and intellectual property rights management by the Intellectual Property Rights Information Centre of Kerala (IPRICK) in collaboration with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE); Intellectual Property Rights Management in the Biotechnology Industry conducted by the Technology, Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology under the Government of India. Other trainings include export market selection, performance, trade flows and export sales negotiations from the SME Trade Academy under the International Trade Centre.


Dr Burra’s research interests include international business, international marketing, agri-business management, rural marketing, export performance and competitiveness, entrepreneurship, value-chain and cooperatives management. Dr Burra is currently a lecturer under the Department of Business Administration and the college’s head of the Resource Mobilisation section. She is also the current college’s acting proctor.
