He holds a Ph.D. in Management Accounting, Dalian University of Technology, China; and MBA (Finance) from University of Dar es salaam, Tanzania and BAF from Mzumbe University, Tanzania. He has over fourteen years of experience in teaching, researching, and consulting in areas of corporate finance, small business finance, corporate governance, financial reporting, auditing and entrepreneurship. He has attended a number of competency-based courses and international conferences on entrepreneurship, financial planning, financial inclusion and exclusion, corporate governance, commercial banks sustainability procedures, international strategy, consultancy skills and project management. In addition, He has participated and managed research and consulting assignments for various agencies such as NSSF, TACAIDS, RFSP and GOBAL FUNDS, and Research on Poverty alleviation. CPA Prof. Dickson has also published over 15 academic papers in international refereed journals. CPA Prof Dickson has supervised and externally examined a number of Master's Dissertations and PhD Thesis.
 CPA Prof.Dickson Pastory is an Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting at the College of Business Education (CBE) and He served as Head of department at Moshi Cooperative University and Director of Postgraduate studies, Research, Publication and consultancy at CBE. He is an external Examiner for Mzumbe University, Institute of Finance Management (IFM), Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA) and Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA).
He also worked as Auditor at CF UNION bank, TACAIDS and Tanzania Audit Associate, moreover he worked as a resourceful person of various regulatory bodies e.g NACTVET, NBAA etc.
